According to Ken Rosenthal and Tracy Ringolsby, the Blue Jays could send money back to the Rockies depending on what the team decides to do with Miguel Olivo:
They will pay the Rockies $25,000 if they decline to offer Olivo arbitration, a source said. If they re-sign Olivo or offer him arbitration, they will send the Rockies a player to be named instead of the money.
The Rockies already received salary relief in the trade by not having to decline Olivo’s option and paying him $500,000. An additional $25,000 is not all that much so receiving a player in return may be the preferred option.
