Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Colorado Rockies are very close on signing a three year contract with prized free agent Jorge De La Rosa.
Most industry sources had suggested that De La Rosa would receive four year offers from the Washington Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates, among other teams. It appeared unlikely last week that the Colorado front office would be competitive against those other offers.
Details are not yet confirmed, but the Rockies have been firm in their commitment to a three year deal with De La Rosa. It appears the two parties are very close to an agreement.
