The Colorado Rockies made an early move on their 40-man roster by ddding outfielder Cole Garner:
The Colorado Rockies have recalled outfielder Cole Garner from Triple-A Colorado Springs and added him to the 40-man roster, according to the transactions at ColoradoRockies.com.
Cole Garner was scheduled to become a minor league free agent if he was not placed on the 40-man roster. Now that he has been, Garner will hopefully receive a legitimate chance at playing for the Colorado Rockies in 2011.
Garner made a strong case to receive a promotion to the majors in September after hitting .304/.374/.520 with 13 home runs and 61 RBI. However, the Rockies saw fit to carry Michael McKenry who saw only a couple of plate appearances.
