The eighth-place Rapids welcome seventh-place Chivas USA to town in a key Western Conference battle.

The Colorado Rapids return to the pitch at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday night to face Chivas USA following a 3-2 loss to FC Dallas Aug. 11.

The Rapids find themselves one point behind Chivas in the Western Conference standings, so a win would be imperative if they want any shot of making a push for the playoffs. It's is a slim proposition as it is, especially due to the fact that they've lost nine out of their last 11 matches. The good news is that the Rapids have a plus-8 goal differential at home, compared with minus-10 on the road. Recent history is on Colorado's side as well, as they defeated Chivas 4-0 in the last meeting, which took place April 28 in Commerce City, Colo.

DF Anthony Wallace and MF Pablo Mastroeni have been declared out for the Rapids, while several other players will be game-time decisions.

The match can be seen on Altitude, and heard on FM 93.7, AM 1510 and FM 87.7.
