Earthquakes Vs. Rapids Final Score: Colorado Falls to San Jose 2-1

The San Jose Earthquakes scored twice in the last six minutes to shock the Colorado Rapids 2-1 on Wednesday night. San Jose, second in the Western Conference, improves to 9-3-3 with the victory. The Rapids fall to 6-8-1 and remain in fifth in the West.

The Rapids had the lead for most of the game after Brian Mullan scored in the 18th minute. The goal was Mullan's first of the year.

The first goal for San Jose was an own goal. Alan Gordon ripped a shot that bounced off Rapids' defender Hunter Freeman and into the back of the net in the 83rd minute to tie the game at 1-1. San Jose would win in overtime when Gordon was tripped by Colorado goalie Matt Pickens to earn a penalty kick for Chris Wondolowski. Wondolowski bured his 12 goal and fifth game-winner of the year to give the Earthquakes the win.
