The Colorado Rapids have gotten off to a hot start this season, while the New York Red Bulls have... not. The Red Bulls, annually one of the MLS' best teams, are 0-2 to start the season, with the latest lost coming at the hands of Real Salt Lake. But New York will return home on Sunday (or, at least to New Jersey) to host their first game of the young MLS season.
The Rapids have the momentum, but not all news has been good in Denver. The Rapids will be without midfielders Jeff Larentowicz, who will miss the game with a suspension, and Pablo Mastroeni, who will sit out with a head contusion. The Rapids have also still not been able to free Martin Rivero from the clutches of Argentina. The Red Bulls meanwhile will see the return of standout midfielder Rafa Marquez, who will be back after serving a three-game suspension dating back to last year's MLS playoffs.
Game date/time: 2:00 p.m. MT
Location: Red Bull Arena, Harrison, New Jersey
