UCLA vs. Colorado: Bruins' Jordan Zumwalt involved in car-on-scooter accident

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

UCLA linebacker Jordan Zumwalt was involved in a scooter accident Sunday, but is still expected to play when the Bruins come to Colorado Saturday.

UCLA Bruins outside linebacker Jordan Zumwalt was hit by a car while riding his scooter on Sunday, but is still expected to play in Saturday's game against the Colorado Buffaloes at Folsom Field, according to the L.A. Times's Chris Foster.

Zumwalt was reportedly on his way to his apartment when he was struck by the car, and was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Zumwalt was released that same evening but did not participate in the Bruins' practice on Tuesday.

If Zumwalt suffers a setback, UCLA does have options with Keenan Graham, Aaron Wallace and Aramide Olaniyan all playing the reserve outside linebacker role this season.

Zumwalt has 16 tackles including three tackles for loss on the season. He also finished third in the team in tackles in 2011 with 60, while also finishing tied for second in tackles for loss with six. Zumwalt only registered one tackle in UCLA's 45-6 romping of the Buffaloes last season.
