Colorado vs. Oregon: Jordan Webb still Buffaloes' starter for now

Colorado is out to a 1-6 start with junior Jordan Webb completing just 55.7 percent of his passes in 2012.

It seems as though Jordan Webb will get another chance on Saturday, as Colorado head coach Jon Embree told reporters, including Brian Howell of the Daily Camera, that the struggling junior will be the team's starter against the Oregon Ducks.

"Yeah, he is (the starter)," Embree said. "Looking at the tape and all of that, and some other factors, we'll go with Jordan."

Through seven games, Webb has completed 127 of 228 passes for 1,351 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. Each his completion percentage and yards per attempt are lower than his sophomore season while he has already taken 30 sacks, compared to 31 taken through 12 games in 2011.

If Webb were to his starting role, the job would then go to either Nick Hirschman or Connor Wood, each a sophomore with very little experience at the collegiate level.

In a 50-6 loss to the USC Trojans on Saturday, Webb completed 18 of 35 passes for 210 yards, but finished with no touchdowns and threw three interceptions. The Buffaloes are 1-6 with a sole win against the Washington State Cougars.
