James Snook-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The freshman running back is redshirting in 2012.

Freshman running back Terrence Crowder will be out for a while for the Colorado Buffaloes after tearing his ACL in practice Oct. 3, according to Kyle Ringo of the Daily Camera.

Crowder had been redshirting the 2012 season, but the injury could threaten his participation in the 2013 season as the recovery time will likely cut into spring practices. Compounding the issue is that Crowder missed all but three carries in his senior year of high school as he tore his ACL early in the season opener (it is not yet known whether it is the same knee).

A 5'11, 210-pound running back, Crowder was a top prospect after earning unanimous first-team All-District 19 his junior season by rushing for 1,338 yards and 15 touchdowns. He verbally committed to the Buffs in July 2011 before the first of his two knee injuries ended his senior season.
