The Colorado Buffaloes will look to avoid an 0-3 start on Saturday when they face the Fresno State Bulldogs on the road. Fresno State is favored by more than two touchdowns.

The Colorado Buffaloes (0-2) visit the Fresno St. Bulldogs (1-1) on Saturday night in hopes of winning their first game of the season. After a 22-17 loss to the Colorado St. Rams, the Buffs followed that with a 30-28 loss to the FCS Sacramento St. Hornets. That defeat came on a 30-yard field goal by Edgar Castaneda as time expired. Colorado head coach Jon Embree could use a win this week.

Fresno State, though, is going to be a tough challenge. After picking up a 37-10 win over Weber State to start the season, the Bulldogs went to Autzen Stadium and lost to Oregon, 42-25. Kenjon Barner and De'Anthony Thomas combined for 303 rushing yards and five touchdowns against the Bulldogs, which might give the Buffs hope for its ground game. The team is averaging just 105.5 yards so far.

Also compounding the Buffs' issues this season is the play of quarterback Jordan Webb. The Kansas transfer has completed just 52.3 percent of his passes. Connor Wood, who battled Webb for the starting quarterback position during camp, will receive some snaps in Saturday's game.

But if Derek Carr, brother of former Fresno State quarterback and No. 1 NFL draft pick David Carr, hits a groove passing, it could be along night for the Buffs. Carr has completed 68 percent of his passes.

Game time/date: 6 p.m. MT, Saturday, Sept. 15

Location: Bulldog Stadium, Fresno, Calif.

TV Schedule: CBS Sports Network

Odds: Colorado opened as a 14-point underdog and now by as much as 15.5 points.

Matchup History: Colorado leads, 4-1. Fresno State won the last meeting in 2001, 24-22.
