The second quarter saw a lot more offense than the first, highlighted by three touchdowns, At the half of the 2012 Rocky Mountain Showdown, it is the Colorado Buffaloes leading 14-9 over rival Colorado St. Rams.

The Buffaloes scored 14 straight points in the second quarter with the first touchdown being on a lengthy nine-play, 81-yard drive capped by a 15-yard pass from Jordan Webb to Nelson Spruce. The second touchdown was another Webb pass, but this time it was to Tyler McCulloch.
