Colorado wide receiver Paul Richardson has decided to redshirt this season, opting to get completely healthy and play a full season next year.
Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver Paul Richardson has decided to redshirt this season, according to BuffZone.com's Kyle Ringo.
Richardson, a junior, told Ringo that he plans to take the time to "get healthy" and ready for the 2013 season. Richardson tore his anterior cruciate ligament in practice back on April 9, 2012, and although there was a chance for him to return to action this season, he has opted to wait and play a full season.
Despite missing nearly five full games in 2011, Richardson ended the season with 39 catches for 555 yards and five touchdowns. A chunk of his production came in one game, as he torched the California Golden Bears' defense for 11 receptions, 284 yards and two scores. Although he only has two seasons under his belt, Richardson already ranks 21st on CU's all-time receiving yards list with 1,069.
