Former Big 12 compatriots will square off in the 2012-13 NCAA season as the Colorado and Kansas programs are scheduled to play each other yet again.

The Colorado Buffaloes basketball team will have a change to renew their rivalry against the Kansas Jayhawks during the 2012-13 NCAA basketball season. According to BuffZone.com, the Buffaloes will welcome their former Big 12 colleagues to Boulder for a rekindling of a the briefly paused rivalry.

In the first season of the Big 12 Conference, the 1996-97 season, the Jayhawks and Buffaloes finished first and second respectively. In 2010, the Colorado athletic department announced they were switching to the Pac 10 (now the Pac 12) Conference, which appeared likely to end the interrelations between Kansas and Colorado.

Dates for the matchup have yet to be released, but the game should be a marquee matchup regardless of its timing. The Buffs (24-12) and Jayhawks (32-7) both reached the NCAA tournament in the 2011-12 season, with Kansas losing in the 2012 National Finals.
