Guard Shannon Sharpe is set to transfer from the Colorado Buffaloes' basketball program.

Redshirt sophomore guard Shannon Sharpe is set to transfer from the Colorado Buffaloes' basketball program. Sharpe intends on transferring closer to his native Southern California to take care of "family responsibilities," according to BuffZone.

Sharpe was seldom used as a sophomore, averaging just 1.1 points per game in 6.4 minutes a night. Sharpe played 13.1 minutes a game, averaging 2.1 points per game, as a redshirt freshman.

Sharpe has had a very rough family life. The guard lost both of his parents to heart failure during high school.

The Buffaloes will certainly have a new-look team next season. Austin Dufault, Rey Eckloff and Nate Tomlinson all departed via graduation from the Buffaloes' first NCAA Tournament team since 2003. Colorado's season highlight was winning the Pac-12 Tournament last season.

Colorado was a No. 11 seed in March Madness, losing to the Baylor Bears 80-63 in the first round . The team finished the season 24-12 overall and 11-7 in the Pac-12.
