NCAA Bracket 2012, Colorado Vs. Baylor Score Final Score: Brady Heslip Dominates From Beyond Arc For Bears' Win

If you didn't know who Brady Heslip was before Saturday night, well, you do now. The Baylor Bears guard scored 27 points, all of those points coming on nine three-pointers, to defeat the Colorado Buffaloes, 80-63.

The Buffaloes entered the second half down by two points, 37-35, but had taken a 57-56 lead midway through the second half. For the next two-and-one-half minutes the Bears and the Buffaloes battled closely, but after Austin Dufault's layup closed the deficit to one point, 61-60, Baylor went on a 19-3 run to end the game. The Bears made four three-pointers during that stretch, including two by Heslip.

Colorado's Askia Booker led the team with 14 points while Andre Roberson added 13 points and eight rebounds. Carlon Brown Dufault and Carlon Brown added 14 and 13 points, respectively.

The Bears received solid performances outside of Heslip's sharpshooting: Pierre Jackson scored 15 points and grabbed 10 assists; Quincy Acy added seven points and 10 rebounds; and the bench put in 16 points.

Colorado finishes the season with a 24-11 record, a 1-1 trip to the NCAA Tournament and a Pac-12 Tournament title.

Colorado Vs. Baylor Halftime Score: Brady Haslip Leads Bears To 37-35 Lead

The Colorado Buffaloes are in a good position against the Baylor Bears despite being down, 37-35, at halftime in this Round of 32 in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Brady Heslip has been the star of this game, scoring 18 points on six three-pointers for the Bears. He's 6-of-8 from beyond the arc.

However, the rest of the Bears team is struggling to hit a shot, leaving the team at 34.3 percent shooting. No other player has nailed more than two shots or scored more than four points.

Colorado, meanwhile, has spread the scoring out a bit more evenly. Andre Roberson leads with 11 points while Carlon Brown has chipped in eight. As a team, the Buffs are shooting 56.5 percent from the field. However, neither team has played that crisp of a game, as the team has combined for 15 turnovers.

NCAA Bracket 2012 Reactions: Colorado Buffaloes Continue March Madness

In a year that has seen some pretty poor Pac-12 basketball, the Colorado Buffaloes, first-year members of the conference, are making a surprising run in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Following Thursday's 68-84 victory over the UNLV Rebels, the Buffaloes now get to face the No. 3 Baylor Bears on Saturday for a spot in the Sweet 16. However, not everything is great after seeing a 20-point lead evaporate. As the Ralphie Report writes:

Things the Buffaloes struggled with: Colorado had 23 turnovers in the game, which was a season high. Consequently, they let a lead of 20 points evaporate. The Buffaloes made some errant passes inbounding and the Buffaloes looked scared to dribble up the court against UNLV's press. Ultimately, it didn't matter, but Colorado has to work on their press break if they want to win their next game.

The Bears had trouble finishing off the No. 14 South Dakota Jackrabbits before pulling out a 68-60 victory in the Round of 64. Can the Buffaloes take out some revenge on the Big 12, their former home?

NCAA Tournament Bracket 2012, UNLV Vs. Colorado Final Score: Buffaloes Advance To Round Of 32

The No. 11 Colorado Buffaloes have advance to the Round of 32 following Thursday's victory over the No. 6 UNLV Rebels, 68-64. The Buffaloes advanced farther into the bracket then in their last appearance during 2003 when they lost as a No. 10 seed to the No. 7 Michigan St. Spartans, 79-64, in the first round.

Colorado had a 36-25 lead after the first half of the game and had as much as a 20-point lead in the second half before the Rebels made a late run. UNLV cut the lead to just three points, 67-64, with eight seconds left in the game after a Chace Stanback three-pointer, but Spencer Dinwiddie made one of two free throws to secure the victory with a cushion. Oscar Bellfield threw up a three at the buzzer, but it wouldn't have been enough to change the game.

Andre Roberson put in 12 points and 16 rebounds, the only double-double of the game, for the Buffs, but Askia Booker had a game-high 16 points. Austin Dufault and Carlon Brown put in 14 and 12 points, respectively.

UNLV managed to shoot just 32.4 percent from the field, lost the rebounding battle (46-33) and made just nine of 17 free throws. Anthony Marshall had a team-high 15 points while Mike Moser added 10 points and pulled down nine boards.

The Buffs will play the No. 3 Baylor Bears on Saturday.

UNLV Vs. Colorado Halftime Score: Buffaloes In Commanding Lead Over Rebels, 36-25

The Colorado Buffaloes might pull off the second major upset of the day by joining the No. 12 VCU Rams in the Round of 32. At halftime against No. 6 UNLV, the No. 11 Buffaloes hold an 11-point lead, 36-25.

The Buffaloes held a variety of double-digit point lead during the first half, including a 13-point one around 2:15 left on the clock. Much of this can be attributed to the tea's ferocity around the glass, picking up 27 rebounds. Nine of those came of the offensive glass, two more than the Rebels have defensively. The Buffs are also shooting a crisp 50 percent from the field.

Askia Booker fueled Colorado during the final minutes of the half, finishing with a team-high 12 points. Andre Roberson continue to perform at a high level with eight points and nine rebounds (four offensively).

The Rebels are having a hard time nailing anything from the field, shooting just 27.6 percent. Just four of the team's 16 three-pointers have fallen through the hoop. Mike Moser and Anthony Marshall shared the team-lead in points with six each.

2012 NCAA Bracket: Colorado Lands In South Region, Could Face Duke, Kentucky Later On

After a successful regular season, the Colorado Buffaloes have landed the No. 11 seed in the South region for this year's NCAA Tournament, as the selection committee announced on Sunday. The Buffaloes were hanging on as a long-shot bubble team before they won the Pac-12 Tournament title on Saturday evening.

The South region won't be quite as easy as the Pac-12 Tournament was, given the lack of great success the conference had this season. In the second round of the tournament, the Buffaloes will be facing sixth-seeded UNLV, with the winner moving on to face either No. 3 seeded Baylor or No. 14 seeded South Dakota State in the third round.

If the Buffs have some success early in the tournament, they could eventually face the likes of Kentucky or Duke, the region's top two seeds, in later rounds.
