Ed Caldwell Turns Down Two Scholarships To Be A Preferred Walk-On At Colorado

Ed Caldwell is a 6-foot-6-inch 284-pound offensive lineman from Highlands Ranch (Colo.) High School and he turned down a pair of scholarship offers from Northern Colorado and the Colorado School of Mines to be a preferred walk-on for the Colorado Buffaloes.

Caldwell made the decision after taking an unofficial visit in mid-January and made the decision this past weekend:

"I knew if I didn't take the opportunity to go play football at an FBS program, take a shot at it, I would be regretting it later in life. I always set my goals high and I work hard to get them accomplished."

On Caldwell's visit he was with offensive line coach Steve Marshall who said that he could come in right away and be in the mix for the third-team right tackle position. In his senior year at Highlands Ranch Caldwell was named a second-team all-conference player.
