NCAA Basketball Rankings: San Diego St. Aztecs, BYU Cougars Represent Mountain West

This is becoming repetitive, but the Duke Blue Devils remain No. 1 in the latest NCAA Basketball AP Poll. They returned to being the unanimous No. 1 selection, regaining that first-place vote that went to Ohio State last week. The Blue Devils are 11-0 after defeating Elon, 98-72, one week ago. The Ohio State University is 12-0 and stayed at No. 2.

The rest of the top eight remain unchanged: Kansas, Connecticut, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, San Diego State and Villanova. Georgetown and Missouri swapped places to round out the top 10. Half of the top 10 consists of teams from the Big East, and Notre Dame and Louisville check in at No. 15 and No. 22, respectively. Cincinnati and West Virginia are among teams also receiving votes for the top 25 poll, which makes this possibly the strongest conference.

The Mountain West has a decent presence inside the AP Top 25 outside of San Diego State's No. 7 ranking. The BYU Cougars moved up seven spots to No. 23. UNLV (11-2) was the last team out, receiving 106 points.

The Vanderbilt Commodores and the Temple Owls entered the AP Top 25 at No. 24 and No. 25, respectively.
