If you only read one sports article today, make sure it's the brilliant Sports Illustrated tell-all by a former sports agent that shines light on the mysterious world of college recruiting.
The cover story, which will be in newstands October 18, is written by John Luchs, a former agent for college football players. He breaks down how he distributed money to college athletes and the steps that led to his violating multiple NCAA recruiting rules.
Though Luchs worked mostly on the west coast, he also admits to paying many University of Colorado players from the 1990s, including Kanavis McGhee, Greg Thomas, and Joel Steed.
This is a fascinating, and frightening, read for anyone interested in college athletics.
