Avalanche Free Agency 2012: RW Bill Thomas Signs With Colorado

Stay connected for news and updates

With most of the NHL still waiting for LW Zach Parise to decide on his next team, the free agent market for players has been an uncharacteristically ice cold. But that did not stop the Colorado Avalanche from adding some depth on Tuesday afternoon as they added RW Bill Thomas, according to Brennan Klak of NHL Update:

Thomas has played for the Phoenix Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Florida Panthers throughout his six-season NHL career. In the 2011-12 season, he appeared in only 7 games for the Panthers, scoring 1 goal on 9 shots.

He also spent the 2010 season with HC Lugano of the Swiss pro hockey league National League A. And in 53 games with the Rochester Americans in the 2010-11 AHL season, Thomas scored 16 goals and 36 points.
