The Colorado Avalanche were quiet on the first day of the 2012 NHL Draft, thanks to last July's trade in which the Avs swapped their first round pick for goalie Sebastien Varlamov. But Colorado's front office will have their chance to get in on the action on Saturday's second day when they pick five times across Round 2-7.
The Avs will select at No. 11 in each respective round, aside from the fourth round, when they also don't have a pick. That fourth round pick when to the Phoenix Coyotes last summer when Colorado acquired center Daniel Winnik. Winnik, of course, was traded at this year's deadline to the San Jose Sharks for forward Jamie McGinn and two prospects.
Here are the picks the Avalanche have:
Round 2, No. 41 overall
Round 3, No. 72 overall
Round 5, No. 132 overall
Round 6, No. 162 overall
Round 7, No. 192 overall
