Just a couple of days after news broke that the Colorado Avalanche signed Minnesota Gophers goalie Kent Patterson, the team has inked two more to contracts: Boston University's Kieran Millan and Finland's Sami Aittokallio.
Millan played for Boston University the last four years as the starting goaltender. As a senior in 2011-12, Millan went 20-14-1 with a 2.60 GAA and a .923 save percentage. He won a Frozen Four championship as a freshman in 2009. He was the team's fifth-round draft choice (124th overall) in 2009.
Aittokallio was the team's fourth-round draft pick (107th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft and played in 11 games in the SM-Liiga. He also was in net for Finland at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship in Alberta, where the team finished in fourth place.
