Avalanche Vs. Penguins Score Update: Colorado Looking For Comeback, Pittsburgh Leads 2-0

Despite hitting nearly twice as many shots on goal, the Colorado Avalanche (33-28-4, 70 pts) find themselves down 2-0 to the Pittsburgh Penguins (37-21-5, 79 pts).

The Penguins showed why they are one of the top scoring teams in the league early and quickly. Less than eight minutes into the period, RW Arron Asham fired a 34-foot slapshot past G Jean-Sebastien Giguere for a 1-0 lead. Within a minute and a half later, D Deryk Engelland deflected a shot from 17-feet and put the Penguins at a 2-0 disadvantage.

Meanwhile, Marc Fleury has proved unflappable at the net for the Penguins, holding off 14 shots on goal while the Penguins have responded with only 8 of their own. The Avs will be looking for a comeback in the second period against one of the league's hotter teams.
