Avalanche Vs. Canucks Score Update: Colorado Leads Vancouver 1-0 After First

Stay connected for news and updates

The Colorado Avalanche head into the second period leading the Vancouver Canucks 1-0.

Through the first period, the Avs have dominated the puck, leading the Canucks with 17 shots on goal to the Canucks' 8. LW Gabriel Landeskog started the Avalanche off right as he shot a six-foot wrister past G Roberto Luongo for a power play goal and a 1-0 Colorado lead.

The Colorado offense remained relentless through the first half, though. Landeskog (4 shots on goal), RW David Jones (3) and four other Avs fired multiple goals past at the embattled Luongo. Colorado, who is playing with a gaggle of injuries, heads into the second period looking to pull away from the Northwest Division-leading Canucks.
