In 2009, they retired longtime captain Joe Sakic's number.
In 2010, they honored the 15th anniversary of the 1995-1996 Stanley Cup team.
In 2011? Well, they're going to raise Peter Forsberg's #21 jersey to the rafters before Opening Night on October 8.
Colorado is 2-0 in games played after these recent Opening Night ceremonies. What better way to kick off the new season than with a farewell ceremony to one of Colorado's greatest players, and then thrashing the rival Detroit Red Wings on the ice?
