Avalanche Vs. Senators Final Score: Colorado Routs Ottawa, 7-1

Coming into this game, the Colorado Avalanche had been unlucky with their shots. Despite placing 97 shots on goal through their first three games, the Avalanche had only scored three goals in regulation. This trend was unlikely to continue for much longer.

Right on cue, the offense exploded for seven goals against the Ottawa Senators on their way to a 7-1 victory and their third straight road victory. Six different players scored goals for Colorado, and the previously inept Avalanche power play erupted for four goals.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere made his first start in a Colorado sweater, and allowed a power play goal on the first he faced. That would be it, as Giguere stopped the remaining 15 shots he faced.

His counterpart Craig Anderson had a much rougher night in net, allowing seven goals on 39 shots. Anderson is having a rough start to his first full season in Ottawa, as he now has a 5.06 GAA and a .853 SV%.

Gabriel Landeskog had a goal and an assist -- his first multi-point NHL game.

Ryan O'Reilly had three assists.

Joakim Lindstrom scored two goals in his first start.

Daniel Winnik, Matt Duchene, and David Jones all scored their first goals of the season.

Colorado has a travel day before facing the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, October 15. They currently lead the Northwest Division.
