Are the Broncos the best team in the NFL?

Heading into the NFL playoffs, SB Nation's final power rankings of the season were released Tuesday and bestowed top billing on the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos enter the playoffs 13-3 on an 11-game winning streak. SB Nation's Joel Thorman is convinced their credentials translate to the No. 1 spot in the season's final rankings.

1. Denver Broncos (LW: 2, 13-3): This is the best team in the NFL. The focus is on Peyton Manning and the fact they scored over 30 points nine times in their 11-game winning streak.

Thorman also noted the Broncos' top-five defense, and that two of the teams that beat the Broncos, the New England Patriots and the Houston Texans, are also in the playoffs. It's likely the Broncos would play at least one of those teams at one point in the postseason.

The Seattle Seahawks were ranked No. 2, and the Atlanta Falcons were ranked third a week after holding the top spot the Broncos now occupy.

The Kansas City Chiefs ended the season in the rankings' ignominious No. 32 slot.
