Raiders vs. Broncos: Carson Palmer comfortable in Oakland

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Carson Palmer is set to lead the Oakland Raiders against the Denver Broncos in Week 4.

Carson Palmer's Oakland Raiders career began against the Denver Broncos last season in Week 9, a 28-14 Broncos win. Palmer is set to meet Denver for the first time since then this weekend, and told denverbroncos.com this week that things are a lot different with Oakland this time around.

Palmer is off to a decent start, throwing 5 touchdowns to just 2 interceptions in leading Oakland to a 1-2 record. The win came surprisingly against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3. Palmer was interception-prone last season (16 picks compared to 13 touchdowns) after joining the Raiders midway through the season. Oakland finished 8-8, a game shy of the playoffs. This year, Palmer says he's more comfortable:

"The opportunities this year I've had with guys to work in the offseason and downtime, (and work on) the timing and the rhythm of the passing game (with) the tight ends has really benefitted us as an offense and me, myself, personally."

Sunday's game in Denver kicks off at 2:05 p.m. MT and will be televised by CBS.
