Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning said after Monday night's 35-24, comeback win over the San Diego Chargers that the win came in "a pivotal game." The Broncos overcame a 24-0 halftime deficit to defeat the team they'll likely have to stave off to win the AFC West, and even their record at 3-3. Manning stopped short of saying it was "must-win," but did talk about how important the Week 6 win was:
"It was a pivotal game. It wasn't a must-win game, because must-win games early in the season, if you don't win it, that doesn't mean the season is over. But, it was pivotal. It's always nice to win a game going into the bye, on the road, in the division. We feel fortunate to be tied for first place in our division at 3-3. It is going to be a competitive division down the stretch. There are some things we need to get better at. We need to use this bye week to improve and find a way to play a 60-minute lead."
Manning completed 24 of 30 passes for 309 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. The Broncos have a bye in Week 7 before playing the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 28.
