The Boise State Broncos have a substantial lead on the Hawai'i Warriors during their island vacation, building a 35-7 halftime lead in Honolulu on Saturday night.

Quarterback Joe Southwick was 14-23 for 190 yards and three touchdowns in the half, and put an exclamation on a big first quarter by hitting Aaron Burks for a 46-yard touchdown pass. The score gave Boise State a 21-7 lead in the quarter, a score that included a Shane Williams-Rhodes nine-yard touchdown run.

The Warriors have managed just 67 yards of offense thus far, their only points coming immediately after the Williams-Rhodes touchdown run. Mike Edwards returned the following kickoff 100 yards for a Hawai'i score, briefly tying the game at 7-7.

Boise State extended its lead to 35-7 on a pair of second-quarter scores: a 13-yard touchdown run by Jay Ajayi, and a Southwick pass to Holden Huff for a ten-yard score. The Broncos tallied 297 yards in the half as Ajayi and D.J. Harper have combined for 79 rushing yards.
