Chris Pederson's Boise State Broncos will play host to the Fresno State Bulldogs on Saturday on NBC Sports Network.
Two of the best teams in the Mountain West will hit the field on Saturday afternoon, as the Boise State Broncos will welcome Fresno State to Bronco Stadium in a pivotal conference showdown.
Boise State enters after recording a pair of road victories over New Mexico and Southern Mississippi, and will be eager to pick up its fifth straight win after falling to Michigan State back in Week 1. Head coach Chris Pederson's offense looks much improved with junior quarterback Joe Southwick finally starting to grow into his role, and the young signal caller's strong play has been a huge reason for the streak. After opening the year with two interceptions and two touchdowns after three games, Southwick has responded to his slow start with six touchdown passes over the last two weeks.
Likely to cause problems for a usually stout Boise State secondary, Fresno State's well-blended offense is already one of the most prolific in college football after just six weeks. Quarterback Derek Carr sports a sparkling 18:3 touchdown-to-interception ratio to accompany his stellar 156.2 quarterback rating, while tailback Robbie Rouse is well on his way towards a monster season with 711 rushing yards and eight rushing scores.
