The Boise State Broncos hit the road for the second-straight week this Saturday as they head to Hattiesburg, Miss., to take on the winless Southern Miss Golden Eagles.
The Broncos are coming off two very close calls which came on their way to a 3-1 record. After winning 7-6 against BYU despite not scoring any offensive points, Boise State saw a 25-0 halftime lead disappear before escaping Albuquerque with a 32-29 win over the New Mexico Lobos.
Southern Miss is coming off a tough loss to ranked Louisville. The Golden Eagles, slogging through at least an inch of standing water, held a 17-6 lead midway through the second quarter, but eventually lost 21-17. In the closest game yet for the 0-4 Golden Eagles, the running game was able to produce 224 rushing yards despite the predictability of play calls due to inclement weather.
But the Southern Miss offense is struggling overall, netting just 275 yards per game, good for 119th in the nation.
