The Boise State Broncos travel to Laramie on Saturday to take on the Wyoming Cowboys and stay atop the Mountain West Conference standings.
Boise State has strung together six straight wins after a Week 1 loss. The most recent win was a 32-7 victory over the UNLV Rebels in Boise. D.J. Harper's running leads Boise State's offense, as the senior has totaled 608 rushing yards on the season. Junior quarterback Joe Southwick throws for 211 yards per game while completing 65% of his passes.
The Broncos' defense has been the story in Boise, however. Ranked No. 20 in total defense, the Broncos are especially good at stifling the pass, giving up just 159 passing yards per game.
Passing is the forte of Wyoming's offense, led by sophomore quarterback Brett Smith. In the five games Smith has started, the Cowboys average 267 passing yards. On defense, the Cowboys have given up an unhealthy 451 yards per game. Wyoming will be without head coach Dave Christensen, who has been suspended for one week for his post-game, on-field tirade aimed at Air Force coach Troy Calhoun.
