The Boise State Broncos play to stay atop the Mountain West Conference as they host the UNLV Rebels on Saturday at Bronco Stadium in Boise.
After week one's four-point loss to Michigan State, Boise State is on a five-game winning streak, the most recent a 20-10 win over Fresno State. The Broncos' offense is led by senior running back D.J. Harper, who ran for 122 yards in last week's win. But the Boise offense has had its struggles, ranking 88th nationally in total yards. Against Fresno State, Joe Southwick threw for just 113 yards on 11-22 passing.
The Rebels have shown little resistance to any team they have played, however, giving up 479 yards per contest. The offense is finally working for the 1-6 Rebels, however. After over a year of offensive struggles, freshman quarterback Nick Sherry leads UNLV to 414 yards per game. Tim Cornett has rushed for 747 yards over seven games. The Rebels are coming off a heartbreaking 42-37 loss to rival Nevada in which they led 31-14 at halftime.
