Looking to stay perfect in Mountain West play, the Boise State Broncos will welcome a dangerous Fresno State team to Idaho on Saturday afternoon for a pivotal conference game.
The Broncos enter in search of their fifth straight win, and will hope to once again get the better of the Bulldogs on the gridiron after dishing out a 57-7 whipping in Fresno last season. One of the focal points of Chris Pederson's offense, senior tailback D.J. Harper has been held in check over his last two games after finding the endzone four separate times in Week 2. The 5'9, 205-pound Harper still leads all Boise skill-position players with five touchdowns through five games, but will need to be more of a difference-maker against an underrated Fresno State run defense.
Already halfway through their 2012 campaign at 4-2 overall, the visiting Bulldogs will bring the nation's 14th-ranked passing offense to Boise on Saturday. Quarterback Derek Carr has racked up 18 touchdowns through the air compared to only three interceptions, and is among the NCAA leaders in passing yardage after torching San Diego State for a remarkable 536 yards back in Week 5.
