College Football Rankings: Boise State Drops In BCS Rankings Simulation

The Boise St. Broncos dropped in the latest BCS Rankings simulation, following their Week 1 loss to the Michigan St. Spartans last Friday night.

As expected, the Alabama Crimson Tide are atop the latest simulated BCS Rankings, which can be found here, over at SB Nation.com. Michigan, who was crushed by Alabama in Week 1, dropped from No. 9 to No. 20 with the loss.

The Broncos also dropped -- but not as far as the Wolverines did. Boise St. dropped from No. 18 to No. 22 in the simulated rankings, following a three-point loss to Michigan St.

For the Broncos to make a major jump in the rankings in 2012, they'll almost certainly need to win the remaining 11 games on their 2012 schedule. Unfortunately for Boise St., none of those opponents are currently ranked at this time.

College Football Rankings: Boise State Drops Out Of BlogPoll Top 25

After losing their Week 1 matchup against the Michigan State Spartans, the Boise State Broncos have dropped out of SB Nation's BlogPoll Top 25.

Michigan State, who defeated Boise St., is ranked No. 9 in the latest and greatest BlogPoll.

Prior to Week 1, the Broncos had been ranked No. 23 in SB Nation's BlogPoll. It's not terribly surprising that following the loss, Boise St. dropped out of the rankings.

All is not lost, however, as the Broncos did receive votes in the poll. Boise St. will get a chance to move up in the rankings next weekend, when they play host to Miami Ohio, on Sept. 15.

However, the Broncos do not have another ranked opponent on their schedule for the rest of the season, so a high rise in the rankings might be out of the question for 2012.

College Football Rankings, Week 1: Coaches Poll Keeps Boise In At No. 25

The Boise St. Broncos are still ranked in the USA Today Coaches Poll, but at No. 25 they are barely holding on to that spot. Losing 17-13 to the Michigan St. Spartans certainly made that happen, but enough voters decided the team would stay in the poll. It was a three-spot drop for them.

Just as in the AP poll, the Alabama Crimson Tide moved to the top spot after demolishing Michigan, 41-14. The former No. 1 LSU Tigers dropped to No. 3 while USC moved up to No. 2. Oregon flipped places with Oklahoma and is now No. 4.

Auburn dropped out of the No. 25 slot and allowed Louisville to slide at No. 24 as the new entrant.

College Football Rankings: AP Drops Boise State Out Of Poll, Alabama New No. 1

College Football Rankings: Boise State Oddly High In One Poll

While the official BCS standings won't begin until October, many of the rankings that are components of the standings have begun. Jeff Sagarin's computer rankings are one of those that factors in to the BCS standings and his listing after the opening week of the season was published on Tuesday morning with the Boise State Broncos still very high on the list despite a loss in their opener against Michigan State.

In fact, Boise State is No. 5 on the list, seven spots ahead of Michigan State, which finished No. 12. While the Broncos are still high on Sagarin's rankings, they are expected to fall out of the polls entirely when The Associated Press and Coaches Polls are released this week.

Other questionable allotments include the TCU Horned Frogs as the No. 2 team in the nation despite having not played a game yet this season.
