Air Force vs. Army score update: Falcons struggling, down 35-7, after 3 quarters

The Army Black Knights lead the Air Force Falcons, 35-7, after three quarters at West Point's Minchie Stadium. Air Force has not lost to Army in the two academies' last six meetings.

The Black Knights added to their 20-7 halftime lead, scoring twice in the third quarter on rushing touchdowns by Larry Dixon and Raymond Maples. Quarterback Trent Steelman rushed in for a two-point conversion with just less than three minutes left in the quarter to put the Black Knights up, 35-7, heading into the final quarter.

Army has the ball and is driving inside Air Force territory to begin the fourth quarter. Army has out-gained Air Force, 384 to 166, through three quarters.

The Air Force rushing attack has been led by Jon Lee with 35 yards on five carries as well as Cody Getz, who has carried 13 times for 24 yards.

Connor Dietz is 5 of 10 passing for 82 yards, but he has been picked off two times. Air Force enters the game with a 5-3 record on the season. Army is 1-7 thus far in 2012.

Air Force vs. Army score update: Falcons' 3 turnovers lead to 20-7 halftime deficit

The Air Force Falcons turned the ball over three times, including two interceptions, in the second quarter as they fell behind the Army Black Knights, 20-7, at halftime. The game is being played at West Point's Michie Stadium, which briefly lost power during the first half.

After a 7-7 first quarter, Army took over in the second quarter, forcing turnovers and converting them into points.The Army defense stopped Air Force on a fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line early in the quarter, setting up their go-ahead scoring drive. Daniel Grochowski hit a 20-yard field goal to give the Black Knights a 10-7 lead in the second quarter.

Air Force took the ball back with 4:43 left to play after a missed field goal attempt by Army, but the Falcons could not capitalize, however, with quarterback Connor Dietz throwing an interception on the first play after taking over.

On the ensuing drive, Army's Trent Steelman pushed up the middle from the 1-yard line to give the Black Knights a 17-7 lead. The touchdown capped an eight-play, 43-yard drive in just under three minutes.

Just seconds later, Dietz was picked off again, this time by Geoffrey Bacon, inside of the game's final minute. That interception set up a 36-yard field goal by Grochowski just three seconds before halftime, putting the Black Knights ahead, 20-7.

Air Force kicked off to begin the game and will receive the ball at the start of the second half.

Air Force comes into the game with a 5-3 record on the season. Army has struggled to a 1-7 record thus far in 2012.

Air Force vs. Army score update: Falcons strike back to tie, 7-7, after one quarter

The Air Force Falcons responded to an early score by the Army Black Knights to tie the score, 7-7, after one quarter at West Point's Michie Stadium. The stadium lost power at one point late in the first quarter.

The Falcons got on the board with 4:30 left in the first quarter thanks to a 1-yard touchdown by Wes Cobb, which tied the game up at seven. The drive was aided by two penalties on Army, both of which gave Air Force first downs.

Army opened the scoring on its first drive of the game, scoring on a 4-yard touchdown run by Trent Steelman. The opening drive for the Black Knights went 66 yards in 13 plays, eating up more than six and a half minutes of the first quarter.

Air Force comes into the game with a 5-3 record on the season. Army has struggled to a 1-7 record thus far in 2012, but the one victory did come at Michie Stadium.
