Going into their game against the Navy Madshipmen, the Air Force Falcons will be looking to keep the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy for a third straight season after winning it in 2010 and 2011. The trophy is awarded to the team with the most wins in the triangular series between Army, Navy and Air Force's football teams. Air Force currently leads the pack in the historical race for the trophy, taking it 18 times since it was founded in 1972.

The Navy versus Air Force game is the first of the season in the series, taking place on the first Saturday of October. Air Force won the trophy the past two seasons after sweeping the two games against Army and Navy. Their two-year streak ended a run of Navy dominance from 2003-2009, when the Madshipmen never lost the trophy. Army has not won a game in the series since 2005 and hasn't taken home the silverware since 1996.

This season, Air Force has looked to be the better team of the two, with the Cody Getz running offense looking lethal so far in the Mountain West Conference. Navy is coming off a listless 12-0 loss to San Jose State, the first time they've been shut out since 2006.

The game will be at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs at 9:30 a.m. MT. It will be televised on CBS.
