Air Force, Oklahoma State Cancel Football Series In 2015, 2016

Stay connected for news and updates

There is more future football scheduling news for the Air Force Falcons. It was already announced they are hosting the Notre Dame in 2013, but they are now losing a marquee opponent. Both Air Force and the Oklahoma St. Cowboys have mutually agreed to cancel their home-and-home series that was to take place in 2015 and 2016.

The two teams were to meet first on Sept. 5 at Falcon Stadium with the 2016 game being played on Sept. 10 at Boone Pickens Stadium. The game was canceled due to Oklahoma State now playing a nine-game conference slate in the Big 12, and they already had four non-conference games in 2015.

Oklahoma State wanted to keep six home games since their Big 12 schedule that year had them only playing four home conference games. So, it came down to Oklahoma State dropping Air Force or the Central Michigan Chippewas since those two games were road games in 2015.
