Air Force Vs. Navy Score Update: Falcons Take Opening Game

Stay connected for news and updates

After the opening game of the Freedom Classic was rained out, Air Force and Navy decided to give the fans some free baseball on Saturday afternoon, as it took 10 innings for the Falcons to earn the 8-7 victory.

In a game littered with errors, the Falcons received an excellent pitching performance from Cameron White. White went 7.1 innings and allowed only one earned run and struck out five batters. However, with Air Force committing four errors in the win, White allowed five runs. Offensively, both Adam Hill and David Thomas drove in two runs, with Thomas 3-for-4 in the game, falling a single short of the cycle. Garrett Custons drove in the game-winning run in the 10th, as his triple allowed Blair Roberts to score.

In the loss, Navy's Chance Jones drove in a team-high four runs, with three coming on a homer in the second inning. Junior pitcher Joel Rinehart struggled in a relief appearance, as he allowed three earned run in just 1.1 innings.
