The New Mexico Lobos (22-4) jump from No. 29 to No. 18 in the latest rendition of the AP Poll. The Lobos have surged into the national spotlight over the last month, pushing their way up in both polls. The New Mexico team that started the season 1-2 and had a deflating two-game losing streak in mid January has pulled out seven consecutive wins, most recently their 64-45 drubbing of the UNLV Runnin' Rebels.
The Lobos, leading the Mountain West Conference with an 8-2 record, have only four games remaining on their season schedule. They square off against the Colorado St. Rams (16-9, 5-5) this Tuesday with a chance at extending their winning streak to eight games.
