Air Force Routs Tennessee State, 63-24

The Air Force kept clicking in the second half as they finished what they started in routing Tennessee State, 63-24. After the Falcons scored on a seven-yard touchdown pass from Tim Jefferson to Joshua Freeman, extending their lead to 42-10, the Falcons never threw a pass the rest of the game.

Air Force ran the ball at will against Tennessee State, as they accumulated 596 yards rushing on the day. Asher Clark led the rushing attack with 13 carries for 148 yards. On the day the Falcons had 17 players run 64 times with an average of 9.2 yards per carry. Overall Air Force had 793 yards of total offense.

In the passing game quarterback Tim Jefferson went 11-of-13 with 178 yards and three touchdown passes while also running the ball only three times for 41 yards.

The Air Force defense held there own, but did allow 394 yards of total offense. However, they continually forced Tennessee State into third down situations and held them to 3-of-15, stopping multiple drives.

Next week Air Force takes on a much stiffer challenge when they travel to take on the Navy Midshipmen in the first leg for the Commander-In-Chief Trophy.

Air Force Vs. Tennessee State: Falcons Routing The Tigers, 49-10

The Air Force Falcons came out big in the first half against Tennessee State with an offense scoring 42 points. The first quarter was fairly close as the Falcons led only 14-7 on two lengthy drives. The consisted of an eight play 64-yard drive that resulted in a Mike DeWitt four-yard touchdown run, and the second drive was a 10-play, 66 yard drive with Asher Clark finishing off the drive one a seven-yard touchdown run.

The second quarter was where the Falcon offense came alive, as they scored 21 points on the arm of quarterback Tim Jefferson. The senior quarterback threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter for 34 yards, both to Mikel Hunter and Jonathan Wazreka.

The passing game came alive to compliment the running game, and midway through the third quarter Tim Jefferson is 11-of-13 for 187 yards and three touchdown passes.

The running game has not suffered either as Asher Clark is leading the way with 148 yards so far. The Falcons have over 424 yards with 22 minutes left in the game.

Not to short change the Falcon defense, but they have shutdown the Tigers, who have gone 0-for-9 on third down conversions.

Air Force Vs. Tennessee State: Predictions, Odds

This matchup is a good opportunity for the Air Force Falcons to get back on track and easily defeat Tennessee State. This game should not be close at all as the Falcon run-option offense led by quarterback Tim Jefferson and running back Asher Clark should put up big numbers and win by a lot.

Typically games between FCS and FBS do not have a line or spread, but this on does. Over at OddShark.com they feel the same way we do in that Air Force should run away with this game. They have Air Force at a 40.5 favorite, yet the over/under is at 59.5.

Now onto some predictions, yes everyone picks Air Force, but the interesting part is picking the final  score.

Mitch Light, Athlon Sports:

Here's the good news for Tennessee State: The Tigers held Murray State to 77 yards rushing last week. The bad news: Murray State thew for 630 yards en route to a 58-27 win.

Air Force 51, Tennessee State 14

Mike Huguenin, Rivals:

Last week, Tennessee State gave up 630 passing yards to Murray State. This week, Air Force's rushing attack should put up huge numbers.

Air Force 59, Tennessee State 14

Scout.com:

It'll take about two drives to put this away. Jefferson will get everything going both through the air and on the ground, and TSU, despite coming up with a few scores to make the score look a wee bit better, won't have any answers to slow down the machine.

Air Force 66, Tennessee State 17

As for my prediction I will go a little more conservative with Air Force winning 41-17.
