College Football Rankings 2011: Air Force Not Ranked, Receiving Votes

The preseason USA Today coaches poll is released with Oklahoma ranked atop the poll, whereas Air Force is in the others receiving votes category.

The preseason USA Today coaches poll is out and four teams received first place votes starting with preseason No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners who received 42 first place votes. The Sooners were followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide who had 13 votes, then the Oregon Ducks and LSU Tigers each received two first place votes. Defending national champion Auburn Tigers landed at No. 19 in the poll which is one of the lowest spots for a defending national champion.

The Air Force Falcons who are considered a potential dark horse team to win the Mountain West and have been projected to win nine or more games came in the receiving votes category with 15 points and that puts them at No. 35. Other Mountain West teams make the poll with the Boise St. Broncos coming it at No. 7, and the TCU Horned Frogs at No.15. Air Force opponent Notre Dame Fighting Irish come in at No. 18.
