Air Force's Tim Jefferson Leads Team To Clean Sweep Of MWC Weekly Awards

The Air Force Falcons almost let a victory slip away on Saturday against the Navy Midshipmen with a fourth quarter meltdown, but a missed extra point by Navy in overtime and a rushing touchdown by Tim Jefferson gave the Falcons the victory (after the Parker Herrington extra point).

The Mountain West Conference decided to award three Falcons with weekly awards. Jefferson took home his third MWC Offensive Player of the Week award for his 9-of-10 passing for 136 yards and 18 carries for 66 yards. Jefferson had three touchdowns, one in the air and two on the ground.

Linebacker Brady Amack tied a Mountain West record with 23 total tackles against Navy. He also had two sacks on his way to Defensive Player of the Week.

But the mist important play came on special teams when Air Force blocked the punt. Alex Means, a linebacker, blocked the extra point attempt in overtime and took the Special Teams Player of the Week award.
