When the odds makers started making the line for the Air Force Falcons' game against the Boise St. Broncos, the former wasn't shown much respect since they were underdogs by 30 points. The Falcons kept the game close at times and always had the Broncos on alert. Still, all that resulted in was a 37-26 loss.
The Falcons went down early to the Broncos after Kellen Moore threw a touchdown on the first drive of the game, but momentum shifted in the second quarter when Broncos running back Doug Martin fumbled the ball. Air Force quarterback Tim Jefferson completed a 90-yard drive by punching the ball in from the one-yard line.
Down 20-10 at halftime, the Falcons went on to bring the game to within seven points on two different occasions. However, the Broncos answered back each time the Falcons scored. But the Falcons rushing attack frustrated the Broncos defense all day long, including several long downs converted into firsts. The team collectively rushed for 275 yards, including 104 by Mike DeWitt.
Tim Jefferson was just 6-of-14 for 132 yards and a touchdown, but he also had two touchdown runs. Kellen Moore, on the other hand, was 23-of-29 for 282 yards and three touchdowns. He picked up his 45th career win, tying Texas Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy.
The 7-0 Broncos take next Saturday off while the 3-4 Falcons receive a breather with New Mexico on the slate for next week.

After playing the Boise St. Broncos close for the first quarter and a half, the Air Force Falcons are seemingly letting the game slip away at halftime. The Broncos lead, 20-10.
A defensive struggle saw the first quarter end with the Broncos in a 7-0 lead, but in the second quarter Doug Martin's fumble turned the momentum in favor of Air Force. Tim Jefferson led the team to a touchdown on a 90-yard drive. However, Kellen Moore immediately responded with a touchdown pass to Matt Miller on a 19-yard pass.
Air Force attempted a fake punt on the next drive, but Mikel Hunter fumbled the ball after a hit by Bryan Douglas. Hunter White picked up the ball at Air Force's 16-yard line and returned it for a touchdown and the 20-7 lead.
Parker Herrington kicked a 37-yard field goal at the end of the half to make it 20-10.

The Air Force Falcons and the Boise St. Broncos are locked in a defensive battle through the early part of the second quarter. The two teams are now tied at seven after Tim Jefferson had a short rush for the score.
Air Force gained possession of the ball when Boise State's Doug Martin fumbled the ball at the Air Force 13-yard line. The Falcons recovered it at the 10-yard line and worked things from there. On his first pass of the game, Tim Jefferson connected with Zack Kauth for a 32-yard gain. Wes Cobb converted a 4th-and-1 later in the drive while Jonathan Warzeka had a 15-yard run on 3rd-and-9.
There were back-to-back delay of game penalties by the Falcons, but Mike DeWitt brought the ball to the one-yard line before Jefferson punched the ball in.
The Broncos, as of now, don't appear ready to cover the 30-point spread.

The Boise St. Broncos struck first in their game with the Air Force Falcons. Quarterback Kellen Moore went a perfect 5-of-5 for 57 yards and a touchdown pass on the drive. Moore effortlessly placed the ball into Tyler Shoemaker's hands for the score, mostly as a result of the Air Force safeties not helping in pass coverage on the left side of the end zone.
On Air Force's ensuing drive, the Falcons started things off with a 23-yard run by Jonathan Warzeka and reached as far as the Boise State 35-yard line, but the drive stalled and wound up at Boise 49-yard line after three straight plays for negative yards. Tim Jefferson was sacked for a loss of eight yards on the final play before the punt.

The Air Force Falcons face the Boise St. Broncos for the first time in school history and they do it as massive underdogs. The line has moved to 30 points, but the Falcons could make this a more competitive game than the odds makers believe it will be. A run-option offense could give the Broncos defense fits throughout the day.
Kellen Moore can tie Colt McCoy's NCAA record of 45 career victories with a win on Saturday. He beat Colorado State for his 44th last week and will stretch out that record by several extra wins by the time his Broncos play in a bowl game in December or January.

Location: Bronco Stadium, Boise, ID
TV channel: Versus
Spread: Boise State is favored by 30 points.

The Boise St. Broncos will have previously suspended defensive tackle Ricky Tjong-A-Tjoe back for Saturday's game against the Air Force Falcons. He was suspended for six-games due to eligibility concerns. Tjong-A-Tjoe was the third Amsterdam player who was suspended, along with defensive back Cedric Febis, who missed one game, and wide receiver Geraldo Boldewijn's four.
Not that Boise State needs another defender back in the lineup, but it does come at an opportune time. Boise State is going up the run-option attack, and the more defenders Boise has the better chance they will have at stopping or slowing down Air Force's run attack.
Here is the NCAA's explanation for the suspension:
"$13,600, received from"a host family, which included Boise State boosters, both prior and after enrolling at the university," the NCAA said. "These benefits included housing, meals, gifts, school supplies, travel, vacation, among other items."
Tjong-A-Tjoe is returning under the conditional that he will pay back that $13,600.

For a second week in a row, the Boise St. Broncos will face a university from Colorado and be favored by more than 30 points. This time, the Broncos host the Colorado team, the Air Force Falcons. The academy features a much better team than the one the Colorado St. Rams featured last Saturday.
The Falcons will have its unique run-option offense to test the Broncos early on, but it may not be enough to stop the Broncos. According to Odds Shark, Boise State opened as 30-1/2 point favorites and it has shifted upward on later lines by 1/2 and 1-1/2 points.
It wouldn't be too far-fetched for the Broncos to cover that point spread, but the over/under of 64-1/2 points might not go above that if the Falcons offense can be neutralized early on.
