One week after taking the Oklahoma Sooners down to the wire in Norman, the Falcons were involved in another close game with the Wyoming Cowboys. The Falcon defense played most of the game down to the Cowboys and never allowed Wyoming to pull away and widen the lead. For his efforts Air Force safety Jon Davis was named the Mountain West conferences defensive player of the week.
JON DAVIS, AIR FORCE
Junior, Safety, Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods HS
Jon Davis recorded a team-high six tackles (five solo stops), one tackle for loss (-6 yards), an interception and a fumble recovery in Air Force's 20-14 win at Wyoming. With the Cowboys driving deep into Falcon territory on their opening possession of the game, Davis picked off quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels' pass in the end zone. Later, with 3:41 remaining in the fourth quarter, Davis recovered a Wyoming fumble, allowing Air Force to run out the clock and preserve a six-point road victory.
