Rockies vs. Dodgers: Jorge De La Rosa looks for win in third start

The Colorado Rockies have another opportunity to play spoiler on Sunday in the finale of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Colorado Rockies aren't exactly in postseason talks with their current standing within the NL West, sitting 30 games out of first place and all, but they can continue trying to play spoiler to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the finale of a three-game series on Sunday. Colorado was shut out in games one and two, losing by a combined score of 11-0.

Los Angeles needs some help to make it into the postseason with the National League's second wild card spot, but with the St. Louis Cardinals losing their Saturday game, their aspirations are still well-placed. They need to pick up at least two wins in their last four games, while getting a little help on top of it, and game three against the Rockies presents the best opportunity for that.

Colorado will look to ruin that opportunity when it sends Jorge De La Rosa to the mound for his third start since returning from Tommy John surgery. He's 0-1 with a 9.45 ERA after giving up six runs over three-plus innings in his last outing on Sept. 20. He lasted just three innings in a 10-5 win over the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.

He'll be up against Josh Beckett, who is 1-3 with a 3.16 ERA since joining the Dodgers. Los Angeles just hasn't been able to give him anything resembling run support, despite him pitching fairly well.
