Broncos Vs. Bears Halftime Score: Denver Takes 10-0 Lead Over Chicago

For a first preseason game played in wet conditions, the Denver Broncos and the Chicago Bears have played a low-scoring, not-that-offensive game at halftime. The Broncos lead the Bears, 10-0, on a Matt Prater field goal and a Lance Ball two-yard touchdown run.

Peyton Manning (4-of-7, 44 yards) threw an interception during his first and only drive of the game. However, the Bears failed to capitalize on the turnover by committing their own. Running back Michael Bush fumbled the ball at his 23-yard line and saw Von Miller bring the ball to the six-yard line. After Caleb Hanie lost four yards on the ensuing drive, Prater kicked the field goal.

After that both offenses had trouble getting anything going. That changed for the Broncos late in the quarter when Hanie (7-of-13, 79 yards) made a few completions and was aided by defensive holding call. Cornelius Ingram caught a 20-yard and Jason Hill a six-yarder to move the chains. Ball (seven carries, 16 yards) then punched the ball into the end zone one play later.

Prater missed a 57-yard field goal attempt at the end of the half, leaving the game in favor of the Broncos, 10-0.

Rookie defensive end Derek Wolfe has looked good out there, picking up three tackles, two sacks and one tackle for a loss. Robert Ayers also picked up a sack.
