Sweden's Carl Pettersson fired a six-under 66 at The Ocean Course on Thursday to claim a one-stroke lead after one round of play at the 2012 PGA Championship. Pettersson is followed by a group at -5 that includes Rory McIlroy, and there's also a huge group of golfers at -4.

Elsewhere in the field, Tiger Woods is in good shape after finishing his first round at -3, while Graeme McDowell and John Daly are in the group at four-under. Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson are both shot one-over.
Colorado State alum Martin Laird finished the day at -1.
