Stay connected for news and updates

In Group B play for basketball, Denver Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov and his Russian team ended the qualifying round with a 4-1 record after losing to Australia at the buzzer, 82-80. With 4.1 seconds left on the clock, Australia makes an inbounds pass just after Vitaliy Fridzon sank two free throws for Russia's 80-79 victory. But after the ball move from near the sidelines to the top of the key, Patty Mills has a chance to win it when he takes a three-point shot:

Getting the shot off with about two seconds left on the clock, Mills and everyone else sees the ball fall through the hoop for Australia's last-second victory, ending Russia's chance for an undefeated.

Mozgov scored 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting and grabbed two rebounds. He and the Russian will continue into the next round after winning the group.
