Sacramento State Vs. New Mexico State Final Score: Aggies Pick Up 49-19 Victory

The FCS Sacramento State Hornets couldn't do it two years in a row. After defeating the Oregon St. Beavers to starter the 2011 season, the Hornets came up empty-handed in the 2012 season opener against the New Mexico St. Aggies, losing, 49-19.

New Mexico State's Andrew Manley threw for three touchdowns and 366 yards on 14-of-22 passing. Those scoring throws were for 52, 50 and 84 yards. Austin Franklin caught the first and the last, finishing the night with eight receptions for 235 yards. Robert Clay led the Aggies with 33 yards on the ground.

Sacramento State's Garrett Safron was 23-of-35 passing for 318 yards and two touchdown passes. Morris Norris was his favorite target, connecting for seven receptions and 88 yards.

New Mexico State travels next week to face the Ohio Bobcats on Sept. 8. Sacramento State travels to Boulder for a game against the Colorado Buffaloes next Saturday.
